Topical vitamin C helps recover vitality in skin that’s become dull over time through the natural aging process or by external factors that can cause free radical damage. Free radicals what’s that? Pollution, sun exposure, even lack of sleep can increase the number of free radicals which oxidize cells on a daily basis (ultimately leading to the weakening of collagen—no thanks!). An easy solve is to use topical vitamin C, which can help neutralize free radicals. Packed with benefits! Topical vitamin C helps address: Lack of radiance/ brightness. Uneven skin tone. Rough, uneven texture. Dark/brown/sun spots. Dull skin. Sun Protection Q&A. Who needs sun protection? In short, everyone! Anyone over the age of 6 months should use sunscreen every day, including those who tan easily and have dark skin pigmentation. Skin can be damaged by sun exposure whether or not you burn when exposed. What happens if i don’t use SPF? The most serious risk is the potential of skin cancer. Other risks include premature aging of the skin, such as the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots. How much spf should i use? The Skin Cancer Foundation advises to use 2 tablespoons for your face and body. And just for your face? .04 ounces of sunscreen. (Or two finger lengths.) When should i use SPF? Every day and every season... and even indoors! Windows can allow UVA rays to pass through, so don’t forget hands when driving. Apply 30 minutes before exposure, and reapply after swimming or sweating. What is a mineral sunscreen? Often referred to as “physical sunscreen,” the active ingredients (like zinc oxide) sit on skin’s surface and physically help prevent UV rays from penetrating the skin. It’s great for those with sensitive skin or kids, offers immediate protection (no extra time needed for absorption) and can be applied over makeup. We now have new Isa Knox Anew Solaire Everyday Mineral Face Protection Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 50, a mineral sunscreen option that’s also water-resistant (for 40 minutes) and doesn’t leave a white cast!
